Loving You More

Loving You More

Many times I've warmed at your hearth

A thousand times I've prayed at your shore

I kept my eyes open and faced your wind

And I found myself loving you more

My heart danced on the Hill of Tara

My eyes felt the mist at Moher

My spirit sung an old song in Doolin

And I found myself loving you more

I drenched my soul on the streets of Dublin

I walked with Joyce and Beckett and Moore

I wandered with sad eyed Gipsy beggars

And I found myself loving you more

Mornings were worthy of a wish and a whisper

When your sunshine stood at my door

And cold nights fell on silent green shadows

And I found myself loving you more

I watched wave after wave in their struggle

To find rest and belonging and I'm torn

For I too was withdrawn from you hoping

And I found myself loving you more

Last night I dreamed in forty shades of glory

From the other side of your oceans roar

I walk with a hope and a silent knowing

That now I cannot love you more
